Today I received a Kreativ Blogger Award from Kelly at John's Daughter blog. I've never gotten a blog award so I am very excited about it. Thank you so much Kelly. Now I believe I am supposed to tell everyone 7 interesting things about me, so here it goes...
1. I own way more sewing machines than any one person really should. I would list them, but you might think I'm crazy.
2. I have a twin sister. Her name is Lori and we are a lot a like and also very different at the same time.
3. I live on a farm and my husband raises beef cattle.
5. When I was in college, I did an internship at the Preservation Society of Newport County in Newport, Rhode Island. I worked at historic mansions like the Vanderbilt's summer home, The Breakers.
6. I think that if it takes more than three steps to make, it should be considered cooking.
7. I have no middle name. (Lori doesn't either) So now I just use my maiden name as my middle name.
It isn't earth shattering, but those are some things about me.

I also got the sweetest little reversible pinafore made for my sweet little niece. She is the first little girl in this family after six boys and I am so glad to have a sweetie to make cute little dresses for. It will be a little while before she can wear it, but I wanted to try out the pattern. It was easy peasy. There will be many more of these made for her and my next niece, who will be here some time in July (the one the Baxter Quilt is for).I also whipped up this Buttercup Bag from Made by Rae for myself. It too is easy peasy. Fletcher goes for his nap soon, so I might head to the workroom to work a little on the Pinwheel quilt. Hubby brought the five boxes that arrived here this week with the table and frame for my new longarm to the workroom this morning, so it will be all ready when they come to set it up tomorrow. Can't wait. After nap time, we head to the parents for a little Father's Day dinner prepared by my sister, some swimming and then a little dessert made by me. Picked some fresh raspberries this morning to go on top of some yummy cheesecake bars. Put a little whipped topping on that... so good. My hubby must think Fletch and I didn't get him anything for Father's Day, but later today at my parents he is going to get a new fly fishing pole. Thought it would be nice for him to enjoy some fishing when we head up to the mountains. Hope he likes it. Should have got him the cute little vest and hat to go with it... maybe for his birthday. He'd look cute in those and some hip waders.

I am desperate to start quilting something. I have not had any time to lately with everything else going on, but I did start a little baby quilt for my sister-in-law. She is due at the end of July with a little girl. I need to get that one done so I can have it to her before the baby comes. I am going to try to piece it all on my little featherweight. It will be the first thing I have done on it since I got it in April. I think I'll work on it tonight. Have a good hump day!

You begin by sewing the two fabrics together as you normally would.
Before you turn the corner, you want to fold the side that was just sewn down even with your stitch line. Then just sew your seam as you normally would. This is what it will look like after you have completed sewing down the second side. Repeat the last two steps for the remaining sides.
Clip the corners to remove the excess fabric. ( You really don't even have to do this step.)
Now just turn your fabric right side out, use a sharp dowel or other tool to push out the corner, press and.... Ta-Dah!!! Perfect corners. Here's a little side-by-side comparison of the two. So simple and it makes your corners look great. No more rounded corners! Yeah!
If you have any questions about this little trick, please feel free to contact me. I would be glad to answer your questions.
