I participated in a craft show this past spring. It was full of local vendors with some amazing talents. I meet Kelly there. She is the talented lady behind Woobie Beans - hand stamped jewelry. I love the look of the hand stamped jewelry! I am so glad to know that there is a local artist I can go to when I want one for myself or a gift. I love her work and I thought you might too!

Ziggin' & Zaggin'
I finished quilting this really cool quilt for Laurie yesterday. I think it is pretty awesome. She made it for her daughter. I think she did a beautiful job.
The hardest part for me about quilting all of these super fabulous quilts is that I want to keep them all for myself when they are done! Wonder if any of my customers would go for that?!?

A+ Students
I taught a great group of ladies how to make these metal frame coin purses this morning. Didn't Linda, Courtney, and Amy do a great job! I will be teaching another class on how to make these on Saturday, August 18th from 9-12 at The Little General.

Beginning Quilting
This is the new quilt for my beginning quilting class at The Little General.
I will be teaching a beginning quilt class at the shop on Thursday mornings in September.
September 6, 13, 20 & 27 from 10 am -12 pm.
Students will learn to make this 9-patch top, a pieced back and binding.
All you need for this quilt are 9 fat quarters, 1 1/2 yards for the solid blocks, 1 3/4 yards for the backing and 1/3 yard for the binding. You can call the shop at 336-779-6155 or email me if you would like to sign-up!

Sunday Sewing
I finished sewing the binding down, popped this quilt in the wash, pulled it out of the dryer (my favorite part) and booked the models. This handsome model is my husband's sweet little bull. He graciously posed beside the quilt.
The ladies stood back and looked at me like, "What the heck is this crazy woman doing?!?"
The cute little babies were just as puzzled.
I made this quilt using a great pattern called "Meadow Blocks". If you are looking for a quilt that can be made in a day- this is it! Super quick and super easy. It's made with 16 fat quarters and 4 yards for the backing. Cut.Sew.Done. That easy!
It is made with Jennifer Paganelli's Crazy Love fabric. I quilted it with a panto called "Maidenhair."
I am putting it at The Little General. She has all these beautiful fabrics and the pattern at the shop.

Oh Baby
Don't you just love baby quilts. My friend Linda made this one. I quilted a pantograph called 500 Fill Power on it. If you would like to see most of the pantographs I offer you can visit my business blog at ginabeanquilts.blogspot.com

Eighteen Months
I took Nolan to the doctor this morning. This is not an enjoy-able event for either of us. He looks sweet, but good Lord that kid can kick and scream. To say that he hates going to the doctors is the understatement of the century. Fletch never let out a peep when we would take him for his check-ups. He would hardly give out a whimper, even when he got shots. Not kid #2. We don't even hit the door and he is screaming his lungs out. I tried to get Anthony, my mom.... anyone to come with me. Just to witness for themselves the spectacle. No takers. Fletcher braved it with me. The only way we could check his weight was for me to stand on the scale holding him and then the nurse holding him while I weighed myself. (You know that was exactly what I wanted to do....get weighed at the pediatricians. Oh joy!) End result... he's healthy, he is a big boy. This eighteen month old is the average height of a 2 and a half year old. Doesn't have to go back for 6 months. Thank goodness! I am going to schedule it so Anthony has to take him!

Stars and Stripes Forever
I hope everyone had a great 4th of July. I know we sure did!
This is Laura's quilt. It is gorgeous! It measures about 60" X 60". The border fabric has little swirls in it, so I mimicked that with a nice swirl pantograph called "Waterworld".
Laura is going to be teaching a class on how to make this beautiful quilt in the fall at Knit One, Smock Too. I know that I would love to learn how to make this!

She had me do the quilting and embroider "The Little General" on it for her.
Stop by her shop to see it in person. She is opened from 10-4 everyday but Sunday and Wednesday.
